The Touratech Suspension Extreme Shock Absorber represents the absolute premium class in suspension technology. This Extreme Shock Absorber for the BMW R100GS/PD & R80GS is perfectly designed for touring and riding operations with frequently and heavily changing loads and riding conditions or extreme demands. The Extreme Shock Absorber features PDS, a hydraulic bottoming protection achieved by using a second damping piston. Even under the most extreme trail conditions with full luggage, there is no bottoming out, preventing mechanical overload of the shock absorber. The damping operates based on the travel. In the predominant riding operation, the shock absorber is comfortably and power-saving adjusted, before the PDS engages in the last part of the shock absorber's travel.

This means for you: Any luggage volume from the tail bag to the loaded luggage system and/or passenger operation is accommodated by the Extreme adjustment range. The balance of the motorcycle can be easily and quickly restored by hand wheel via the hydraulic preload adjustment. The very finely adjustable damping at the reservoir allows for an effective, precise, and personalized suspension setting for any road condition and purpose, whether on highways, federal roads, small country roads, off-road sections, long-distance travel with large luggage, or spirited, ambitious riding style.

=> The shock absorber housing is made of aluminum. This results in the lowest possible weight.

=> Special, low-friction seals are used. This results in very low wear and a long lifespan of the shock absorber.
=> Stable stainless steel bushings are installed in the shock eye for the mounting screws. This ensures a stable, play-free fit of the mounting screw even under the highest loads.
=> Separation piston design. This allows the damping fluids oil and nitrogen to act separately.
=> This results in finer response of the shock absorber,
=> high, precise damping performance even at very high damping frequencies (poor roads, trails),
=> better cooling of the shock absorber.
=> Minimal restrictions on the installation position of the shock absorber in the motorcycle.
=> Hydraulic "Extreme" preload adjustment via a conveniently positioned hand wheel.
=> The damping settings were developed based on the experiences and requirements of Touratech. The basis is many travel kilometers and the experiences from the operations of the Touratech Race Team.
=> "Extreme" compression damping adjustment is always separately adjustable in high speed and low speed. This allows for very individual adjustment of the compression/rebound stage. Ideal adaptation to changing requirements.
=> Separate "Extreme" reservoir in the damping group of the shock absorber. This results in better cooling of the damping during operation. This leads to higher load capacity and longer lifespan of the shock absorber.
=> QR code on the shock absorber with individual shock absorber information. This allows for easy retrieval of shock-specific information by scanning with a smartphone. Information on the basic setting of the shock absorber is always retrievable. Reset possible in case of incorrect settings.



The basic setup installed here is tuned for riders up to 100 kg including travel luggage. Adjustments for much higher loads or other extraordinary requirements are possible.
