The ground clearance is not restricted by these two base plates.
Another advantage is that the engine protection is raised in the front area to such an extent that it also protects the oil filter and oil cooler.
Additionally, plastic rails at the lower part of the base plate ensure that the already recessed screw heads are completely covered. This allows the engine protection to be easily disassembled even after heavy off-road use.
Last but not least, the plastic rails facilitate the "sliding over" of stones, rocks, or tree stumps.
Almost incidentally, they also ensure that no dirt can settle.
