The high-load construction with its 4 independent mounting points forms a "cage" and completely encloses the components. This creates the most effective protection for cylinders, valve covers, and the sensitive lambda sensors! The 25x2 mm stainless steel pipes are for the first time supported by 3 mm thick, 3-dimensional formed stainless steel plates. These fit perfectly in both technology and design with the frame of the R1300GS. Because even there, the advantages of the formed plates with their significantly higher load capacity while maintaining low weight are utilized. The 3D formed plates of the Touratech Engine Crash Bar wrap protectively around the particularly vulnerable front area of the valve cover and secure it forward and to the side. By the way, it fits perfectly into the new flatter design language of the large "GS" and visually makes the crash bar a part of the motorcycle. The forces occurring in a fall or crash are safely absorbed, distributed and effectively redirected to suitable points of the construction and gently dissipated. Numerous predetermined bending points prevent overloads and thus protect the frame and engine. Made exclusively from robust electropolished stainless steel, the crash bar is resistant to rust. Even deeper scratches lose their terror and can be easily polished out. The distance of the crash bars to the vehicle has been chosen to be as close-fitting as possible. There is no noticeable impact on ground or lean angle clearance, yet there remains enough space "to work".
