Most BMW motorcycle models are still equipped with a rigid brake disc, which, unlike the otherwise common floating brake discs from other motorcycle manufacturers, is bolted directly to the rim using sleeves and wave washers (or spring rings).
The bolted construction was replaced by a pressed variant by BMW in 2008.
With the TRW mounting kits, it is possible to cover both variants.
This significantly simplifies the classification and inventory management and is an interesting, cost-effective option for the BMW customer.
