JMP Skan Monitor 2 Battery monitoring with your smartphone “Not suitable for lithium batteries.” With the JMP Skan Monitor 2 and the new free Apple or Android app “JMP BatteryMonitor II”, you can quickly and easily check the charge status of your battery. Only with a consistent, positive charge status of the battery is the full capacity and usability guaranteed. The positive charge status also prevents potential early damage or failure of the battery. Through continuous recording, the charge status of the battery is captured during rides and can be accessed later. The file with the data can be sent via email from the smartphone and displayed in Excel. This allows you to quickly identify where the charging voltage dropped or was too high. A defective regulator can be quickly recognized. Additionally, with the new app, starting processes (starter, cable connections, etc.) and charging processes (alternator, cables, etc.) can be accurately checked. Regulator/Rectifier with MOSFET Technology Replacement part in original quality This new technology has renewed the concept of three-phase linear regulators. For many years, these devices used silicon-controlled rectifiers (SCR) to direct excess energy from the generator to ground, thereby maintaining a constant battery voltage. This was widely accepted and proved adequate for small and medium generators in combustion engines. However, the new regulator technology based on MOSFET transistors is becoming increasingly popular due to better performance and many other interesting advantages over SCR. The energy demand in modern motorcycles and ATVs is increasing due to the use of additional electronic modules such as fuel injection systems, high-efficiency lighting, numerous accessories, etc. This means a large amount of energy coming from the generator, and the SCR shunt regulator is unable to manage this effectively. The main reason is the low energy efficiency; the internal losses of the regulator lead to overheating and premature damage when currents greater than 35A are directed through the regulator. As a result, SCR technology has reached a limit and is therefore not recommended for large vehicles with high energy consumption. To solve this aforementioned problem, it was necessary to reduce the losses in the circuit. When the SCR is active (generator current to ground), there is a high forward voltage drop (about 1.5V @ 35A), as it functions like a power diode. As the current increases, the power loss (e.g., heat) also increases in parallel. POWER LOSS OF THE DEVICE (W) = FORWARD CURRENT (A) X VOLTAGE DROP (V) Advantages: - 3-PHASE SHUNT REGULATOR WITH HIGH ENERGY EFFICIENCY - OUTPUT POWER UP TO 50A - PRECISE ELECTRONIC CONTROL OF BATTERY VOLTAGE PREVENTS MISFIRING - LOWER HEAT DEVELOPMENT LEADS TO LONGER LIFESPAN - LOW-POWER STANDBY MODE WHEN VEHICLE IS NOT IN USE Unlike other transistors, MOSFET transistors can be designed as voltage-controlled switches, as their completely different semiconductor architecture makes them more efficient in handling energy. When in use, they behave like a low-value resistor for high currents, directing all the excess current from the generator to ground. This results in a very low voltage drop (less than +/-0.2V @ 35A) and drastically reduces power loss. This directly affects lower heating of the device and a long lifespan of the regulator. The MOSFET technology has been continuously improved in recent years due to its wide application in consumer and industrial electronics. The semiconductor integration technology offers higher robustness in reduced space conditions with excellent efficiency. Additionally, they allow for faster switching, higher reliability, and better control under high loads. The rectifier diode performance is another important factor when it comes to power loss. Since all the output current flows through them, they must provide both great robustness and stability, as well as efficient current control. Our MOSFET regulators use high-current enhanced rectifier diodes with extremely low voltage drop, which help prevent overheating and meet the aforementioned requirements. The internal CONTROLLER has been completely redesigned to meet the requirements of the MOSFET transistor. The battery voltage is constantly monitored to adjust the output current to various consumption situations. The new electronic control avoids the use of the ignition line, reduces the number of connections, and simplifies the cable topology. It also features low energy consumption in standby mode, resulting in very little battery discharge when the vehicle is not in use. This new technology allows for an increase in the output power of the regulator up to 50A while maintaining excellent voltage regulation. Additional benefits such as reduced heating, high efficiency, and extended electronic control make this new regulator the first choice for managing your vehicle's battery circuit.
