Exhaust heat shield at the silencer - BMW S 1000 XR from 2015 For this thermally highly stressed part, we use special high-temperature prepreg (see FAQ) to avoid discoloration and yellowing. The carbon part has been completely manufactured from prepreg (see FAQ) material in the autoclave according to the latest guidelines and, as is customary for us, coated with a clear plastic coating in the next step to protect against environmental influences. This plastic coating significantly surpasses the usual clear lacquer coating in terms of protective effect, scratch resistance, and durability. But not only does the coating excel technically, it also emphasizes the three-dimensional effect of the carbon structure even more clearly.

Through the combination of elegant curves and sharp edges, the carbon heat shield fits the modern lines of the BMW S 1000 XR 2020 like no other. Not only does it look good, but it also offers many technical advantages. High-quality carbon conducts heat significantly slower than the materials of the original part. This keeps the outer surface noticeably cooler and better protects the foot from burns. To achieve a particularly harmonious overall appearance, the fiber layers are laid and aligned by experts into the mold. This allows the carbon part to fit perfectly into the surrounding shapes of the motorcycle. The more of our parts are installed and combined, the more overwhelming the result. For our carbon, we exclusively use prepreg fabric produced specifically for this purpose, which is also used in a similar form in Formula 1 and aerospace. The material, laminated by hand with great care and cured in multiple stages in an autoclave, not only impresses with its unique appearance but also with its exceptional technical properties. It has three times the specific stiffness of steel at the same volume and, due to its particularly low density, weighs only a fraction of that. These properties are particularly pronounced in our products due to the high fiber volume content. To optimally protect this high-quality material from environmental influences of all kinds, we, as the only carbon manufacturer worldwide, use a specially developed plastic coating on all surfaces. This, in combination with our clear coat, creates an unprecedented and unique depth effect that highlights the high quality of the material.
